When you don't know what to do...

Do you ever find yourself in a situation where you initially don't feel capable, or you feel like you can't do it, or you feel like you don't even know (Maybe it is an addiction of some sort, or a new relationship, or maybe it is even just stepping out in faith regarding something that the Lord is calling you to in this season)? The reality is, however, that you probably can't do it.. .on your own at least. When I am in those types of situations, the only thing I can rely on is the inerrant Word of God. His word is the truth that dispels all lies I may be believing. His word says that we have been given all authority with Jesus Christ; so why don't we walk in that confidence? His word says that we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13) I'm reminded of a children's song that I sang when doing a sports ministry a few years ago. The chorus went like this... "when you don't know what to do, do what you know..." How simple is that?!? I mean, when we don't know what to do, what is the one thing we do know? We know that the Word of God works, and that the Lord is constantly with us, so we should ask for His help! Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom in whatever situation you are in. The Lord is ALWAYS faithful to meet you where you are! A lesson that I've come to realize (and pretty quickly) is that God is so much bigger than my situation and my fears. Walking in fear, is walking in flesh. Fear is not from the Lord. I must move out of a state of fear and into a state of faith! Raising my faith in the Lord and that the Lord wants to and will work through me! All I have to do is truly believe and be willing to go where He says go.
So once again... when you are scared out of your mind to enter into something (even if you KNOW the Lord is calling you to it), don't freak out about what you don't know, but do what you do know... press into His word and His word will NEVER fail you... it doesn't return void. Hold onto the word that the Lord spoke to you in the beginning. As the Lord told Joshua many times "Be strong and courageous..." Remember: you can do ALL THINGS through Christ. Why? Because HE gives you strength!!
