The Lord provided a job for me!

As many of you know, I have been without work since the end of May. Well, last week the Lord provided me with a job!! I am a server at Beef O Brady's (a family sports pub) in Spring Hill. Now some may be wondering how you can have a FAMILY sports PUB...well it is basically a sports resturant with a bar in it.. the neat thing about this place is that there are televisions EVERYWHERE and then only thing that is on each TV is sports! If you know me, this job is a perfect match: sports, food, and interacting with people! 3 of my favorite things!

I am loving my job! It was such provision of the Lord. I mean, I picked up my application on Sunday, turned it in on Tuesday and started working on Wed. - now that's kinda crazy to me. The Lord has been constantly reminding me how He is Jehovah Jireh, my provider.

Anyways, like I said, I started working on Wednesday of last week, and within the first 30 minutes of being there, the Lord was already showing me how I was on mission with Him in this place. How there are people all around me that I am going to be in daily contact with that need Him. my desire is to be continually in communication with the Lord while I am communicating with my coworkers and customers. Man it is neat being on mission with the Lord!! It is so much fun!

So, if you live in the Spring Hill area, come by sometime! We would love to see you!

San Diego.. Days 5-14 ha!

So I'm sitting at the airport and I realized that I have not updated you guys on the rest of my trip. I've been pretty busy, but here I have some time waiting for my plane, so here it is!
A week ago, my family celebrated my grandma's 80th birthday! That is the whole reason we all came out here. It was so much fun spending time with them and seeing some of the extended san diego family that we haven't seen in a while. On Sunday, we all went to my parents and grandparents church and this is where we surprised my grandparents with singing. Here's the back story... Every time my aunts come out, my mom and them sing a song or two at church. This time, WE ALL got up and sang... Talk about being stretched! But it was fun and my grandparents loved it!
Then Sunday afternoon, I drove up to Orange County and spent the next few days with the Sturgills and some friends! I had no idea what was in store for me when I got there. My time in Orange County was so orchestrated by the Lord! But while I was there, we went to the beach, had a bonfire, went to swim lessons, had lots of great conversations, I went to disneyland and ate In-N-Out twice!! I had such a fun time up there!
When I got back to San Diego I spent some more time with my family, purchsed some Sees candy and avocados, and some other little things for some people back in TN. Thursday and friday night, we went to Padres games! Thursday was with my mom, dad, Lindsay and Caleb and Friday night was just with my dad! On Friday night, I got my picture taken with Chase Headley, Tony Gwynn Jr. and Edgar Gonzalez!
Now, here I am, getting ready to board and fly home! I love California, and had a great time this past 2 weeks, but I'm so ready to be back!
Here are a few pictures!

San Diego-Days 1,2,3,4...

Wow! It has been non-stop since I stepped off the plane on Sunday afternoon! When I got into town, my parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle, and niece picked me up from the airport and we went straight to In-n-Out!!!

After that, we dropped my niece off at her dad's house and then we went to my grandparents where my other aunt and my cousins were waiting for us..we then stayed for a few hours and I was sooo ready for bed. Remember, I had just flown in from TN and my body was still on the central time zone..so i was beat!

Monday morning (day 2) I woke up at 5:20am (PT). Thank you time change! Went for a short run and then met my cousins for a great day of soaking up the sun at Coronado beach! We spent all day there and yes, I got burnt on my back and the back of my legs. :(

Tuesday (day 3) we went to Sea World!!! Oh man I had a blast! It has been a couple years since I had been there and it was just as much fun as I remembered! My little cousins of course wanted to sit in the soak zone at all the shows, so I was a good big cousin and did it with them! We sat in the FIRST ROW at the dolphin and piolt whale show and...GOT DRENCHED!!!!
After that, we went to the Shamu show.. sat about 5 rows up and didn't get a drop on us.. The kids were devistated, but i secretly was happy about that! shhh don't tell them ;) We then went on shipwreck rapids and proceeded to get drenched again... It was so much fun being able to experience Sea World with them as they got to do so many things for the first time. We held sea stars, fed bat rays, attempted to pet dolphins and of course saw many of the Lord's wonderful creatures!

Reuben (8) spent most the day by my side and held my hand a lot (which I ate up!)

We then waiting until it got dark and saw the dolphin show and Shamu rocks show at night which was great! (I had never seen these particular shows before and they were great!) We didn't sit in the soak zone for these...
Needless to say, it was a long busy day, but so much fun!

Day 4.. today...
It was kinda low key, but I got to spend some time with my parentals and then with my friend Vanessa! She just bought a 12-foot, 2 person kayak, so we took it out today! We left at J-Street Marina and then paddled into the bay... we were going to try and go all the way to the Coronado bridge, but once we were on the water..choppyness and all) we determined that the bridge was just a little too far out for us... It was a blast!

However, with all the choppyness of the water, our kayak took on a lot of water, so here are some pictures of Vanessa trying to bail us out
Well, I think that's all for now! Busy next couple of days, so I'll update as I can.. and of course post pictures!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Today we celebrate our independence. It is such a blessing to live in a free country where we can worship our Lord! In past years, I usually go some place with friends or family and watch fireworks, some of those places have included the bay, sea world, and other places around San Diego... This year, I am walking in the provision of the Lord and babysitting. However, i've had a blast with them! And I love living in a state where fireworks are legal because there are fireworks going off all around me in the neighborhoods... Anyways, here are some pictures from today.

Some fourth of July fun... on the 3rd!

Today some friends and I went to the lake. We all had the day off and so we decided to celebrate the 4th of July on the 3rd. After the lake, we went to one of our friend's house and grilled out and swam... SO MUCH FUN!! Here are some pictures from the day! It was such a BEAUTIFUL day for the lake and pool! Thank you LORD!!!

Happy Independence Day y'all!!!

Megan and me at the pool.

Megan and her "prince"... She caught the frog that jumped in the pool...

The delicious corn that Tres grilled for us!

Me enjoying the watermelon!

The group at the lake... Me, Adam, Robert, Tres, Olivia and Regan

All of us jumping in the lake! Can you tell we were excited to be there?!

Olivia and me jumping in!

Ok, let me explain this picture... It is truly something you would only see in the south. The people who came to the lake and were swimming next to us, wore their cowboy boots and hat with their swim trunks... they had cans of sun drop and had confederate flag towels... did some one say redneck??
