After that, we dropped my niece off at her dad's house and then we went to my grandparents where my other aunt and my cousins were waiting for us..we then stayed for a few hours and I was sooo ready for bed. Remember, I had just flown in from TN and my body was still on the central time zone..so i was beat!
Monday morning (day 2) I woke up at 5:20am (PT). Thank you time change! Went for a short run and then met my cousins for a great day of soaking up the sun at Coronado beach! We spent all day there and yes, I got burnt on my back and the back of my legs. :(
Tuesday (day 3) we went to Sea World!!! Oh man I had a blast! It has been a couple years since I had been there and it was just as much fun as I remembered! My little cousins of course wanted to sit in the soak zone at all the shows, so I was a good big cousin and did it with them! We sat in the FIRST ROW at the dolphin and piolt whale show and...GOT DRENCHED!!!!
After that, we went to the Shamu show.. sat about 5 rows up and didn't get a drop on us.. The kids were devistated, but i secretly was happy about that! shhh don't tell them ;) We then went on shipwreck rapids and proceeded to get drenched again... It was so much fun being able to experience Sea World with them as they got to do so many things for the first time. We held sea stars, fed bat rays, attempted to pet dolphins and of course saw many of the Lord's wonderful creatures!Reuben (8) spent most the day by my side and held my hand a lot (which I ate up!)
We then waiting until it got dark and saw the dolphin show and Shamu rocks show at night which was great! (I had never seen these particular shows before and they were great!) We didn't sit in the soak zone for these...
Needless to say, it was a long busy day, but so much fun!
Day 4.. today...
It was kinda low key, but I got to spend some time with my parentals and then with my friend Vanessa! She just bought a 12-foot, 2 person kayak, so we took it out today! We left at J-Street Marina and then paddled into the bay... we were going to try and go all the way to the Coronado bridge, but once we were on the water..choppyness and all) we determined that the bridge was just a little too far out for us... It was a blast!
However, with all the choppyness of the water, our kayak took on a lot of water, so here are some pictures of Vanessa trying to bail us out
Well, I think that's all for now! Busy next couple of days, so I'll update as I can.. and of course post pictures!!!!
