A lot of things can happen in a year

A year ago today, I was welcomed to Tennessee by a big smile and a huge hug from my roommate Jeannie.  When I showed up on her doorstep, that was the first time we met, and I knew that I was in for an adventure!  Not knowing what the year was going to bring, I was ready to embrace it.  This year has been more than I ever imagined; and I honestly can't believe I've only been here a year.  The adventures I've been on have been amazing, and the relationships I've built have been life-changing.  I feel like I've known them my whole life!  I love how the Lord is so faithful to His word!
Here are just some of the "firsts" I've experienced this past year:

-went to my first AAA baseball game..and introduced Olivia, Jeannie and other's to the importance of the Rally Cap

-visited Michigan for the first time

-went on a 13.5 hour road trip to go to the beach, but I saw the Atlantic Ocean for the first time, and camped on the beach!!

-learned how to play Ultimate Frisbee

-Ran my first race... a 10K, and fell in love with the sport of running.

-played in a corn field and ran through a corn maze

-had an amazing costume birthday party, with a random dance session after

-visited Opryland Hotel...and saw it at Christmas!

-went to Atlanta for a women's conference

-experienced my first snowfall!

-got stuck behind a tractor on the road
-actually saw the stars...no fog.. no lights, just stars
-I rode the "el" and hung out in Downtown Chicago

but beyond all of that, this year, I have become part of a tribe of people who love God with all their hearts and love each other.  I'm so blessed by the family and community of people the Lord has placed me in!

Help support the building of a water tower!!!!

Frontline is at it again! We are raising 12,000 dollars to build a water tower for a community in India. This water tower is going to bring fresh, clean water to this community...something they haven't had.

I love being part of a group of young people who are not just sitting on their butts, listening to good teaching, but we are a group who are unsatisfied with the way things are and we are determined to make a difference. We have heard from the Lord and we are moving on what He said!

Frontline is currently doing 2 things to raise money for this water tower project (and more avenues are coming soon)...
the two things we are doing are:
1) selling shirts for the cause. they are sweet shirts (i'll try and get a picture up soon)
2) we are hosting a 5K run on June 20, 2009. I am excited to say that I am going to be running in this race. The way we are raising money is by having a registration fee for the race- $50. But the thing about it is that we are not expecting all the participants to front that money... this is where you come in, I'm looking for people to sponsor me in this race. Any amount of money, per kilometer I run. For example: if you sponsor me $1/K, then if I run the whole thing, you would pay $5.. that's it! (of course you can donate any amount of money you wish.) AND ALL THE PROCEEDS GO TO THE INDIA PROJECT!

So, let me know if you want to sponsor me, or if you want to purchase a shirt! I thank you, and the people of India will thank you too!

Ultimate Frisbee

Saturday was the Frisbee on the Farm tournament.  This is an Ultimate Frisbee tourney that our youth group, Uturn hosts every year to harvest funds so they can go to Camp Courtney.
Ultimate frisbee is a game that I had never heard of or played, until I moved to Tennessee.  I've found that it is a very popular sport.
Anyways, I played in the tournament this year (my first year) and I had a blast!  The downside is that I am still so sore! (three days later!)  My biceps and Pecs mainly.   This has given me a very real and sad reality that I am not in as good of shape as I thought I was.  Yes, I play softball twice a week, but I'm still not "in shape".  So, I am going to start working out and trying to get into shape again.  I'm still seeking the Lord to see what this will look like, but I have realized that I need to start taking better care of my body...

Sean and Jamie's "I DO"

A few weeks ago, I was privileged to shoot the wedding of Sean and Jamie. I've known them for about 5 years now; Jamie and I lived together for a couple years, and I love her to death. Here are some shots from that wonderful day!
